Abstract:
The ForwArd Search ExpeRiment (FASER) is an LHC experiment that aims to search and study light, weakly interacting particles such as neutrinos in unexplored TeV-energy and long-lived BSM particles (dark photons (A’), axion like particles (ALPs)). The FASER detector is located 480 m downstream of the ATLAS proton-proton (p-p) interaction point, along the beam collision axis. The first detection of collider neutrinos at TeV energies has been reported in 2023, and in 2024 measurements of the electronic and miuonic neutrinos interaction cross sections at TeV energies have been reported. Furthermore, the FASER experiment has been approved for Run 4 at the HL-LHC, and further improvements will bring the FASER2 version of this experiment.
