Abstract:
In this work we shall discuss the emergence of the cosmological expansion in a theoretical model based on the energy momentum squared gravity. After obtaining the corresponding scalar-tensor representation, we analyze the physical effects by considering the linear stability theory. Then, for each phase of the universe we obtain specific constraints which are related to the astrophysical observations, showing that the matter creation rate and creation pressure can switch sign or cease in the late matter domination era. Lastly, we extend the theoretical model by including a cubic term in the Lagrangian, discussing the cosmological features.
