Abstract: This paper presents an experimental study of the free fall of a ball in the Earth’s gravitational field using the Einstein Tablet and a distance sensor. By processing the experimental data with the MiLab software, graph representing velocity as a function of time, as well as kinetic, potential and total energy as functions of time and position, were obtained. Furthermore, the gravitational acceleration was determined using two different methods: a kinematic approach and an energy-based approach. According to the first method, the gravitational acceleration was determined from the slope of the linear velocity-time graph, while according to the second method, it was determined from the slope of the graph representing the square of the velocity as a function of position. This study demonstrates both the ease of performing educational physics experiments using digital equipment and the advantages of data processing with the MiLab software integrated with Einstein Tablet.
