Abstract:
We investigate the dipole response of neutron-rich nickel and tin isotopes, within a model based on extended nuclear separable interactions, with focus on the Pygmy Dipole Resonance (PDR), the Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR), and polarizability. We employ linear response theory combined with the Migdal model to compute the evolution of dipole polarizability along both isotopic chains. The theoretical results are systematically compared with available experimental data, with special emphasis on the contribution of the PDR mode to the total dipole polarizability. We show that this analysis adds valuable additional constraints on the density dependence of the symmetry energy part of nuclear equation of state.
