Abstract:
We present Hyper-Vlasov, a new program written in C++ and OpenMP, for simulating nuclear systems using the Vlasov test particle method, modified with a Particle-In-Cell algorithm. We show results for the dipolar dynamics of the 132-Sn isotope including: the mean-squared radius as a function of time for the ground state, the center of mass and the dipole moment as a function of time after a nuclear excitation, the strength function for the specific excitation, and corresponding transition densities. We discuss future advancements such as porting the program to CUDA for GPU execution, as well as possible extensions to other physical systems including galaxies and metallic clusters.
