Abstract:
Rising energy prices are driving the need for improved residential energy efficiency in Romania. Significant savings can be achieved through a combination of thermal insulation and photovoltaic systems, with studies showing potential reductions in energy consumption of 40–60% for typical rural households. The analyzed building is a single-family house located in Tatarani, Dâmbovița County, Romania. The study includes a detailed analysis of the building’s energy performance, an assessment of the site’s solar potential, and the design of a photovoltaic system tailored to the building’s energy needs. It proposes energy efficiency improvements, assesses economic feasibility, and identifies additional measures to reduce energy consumption, aiming to optimize overall building performance.
